The course was established in 1904 and redesigned by Cabell B. Robinson to host the Evian Championship, one of the five women's majors.
The course plays to 6,350 yards from the championship tees and is characterised by the dramatic alpine terrain, the natural elevation changes, the mature woodland, and the extraordinary views across Lake Geneva to the Swiss Alps. Robinson's redesign created a series of holes of great variety and challenge, each one a distinctive expression of the alpine landscape — with the panoramic views providing a constant and breathtaking backdrop.
