About the Course

Rosapenna Golf Resort – St Patrick's Links

Rosapenna Golf Resort's St Patrick's Links is one of the most significant modern links courses in Ireland. Reimagined by Tom Doak and opened in June 2021, the course occupies a spectacular stretch of duneland beside Sheephaven Bay in County Donegal, where massive natural blowouts, elevated ridgelines, and panoramic coastal views give the landscape extraordinary scale.

What makes St Patrick's Links so compelling is the way the course feels both expansive and natural. Doak's routing moves through immense dune formations, across valleys, and up onto higher ground with long views over the bay and towards Ards Forest Park. The result is a links course of unusual drama and freedom, but also one that sits convincingly within the land rather than against it.

St Patrick's Links has quickly established itself as one of the standout courses in Irish golf, and as part of Rosapenna's three-course links offering — alongside Sandy Hills Links and the Old Tom Morris Links — it gives the northwest of Ireland one of the most compelling golf bases anywhere in Europe.

The Course

Why It Stands Out

I

Tom Doak in Ireland

St Patrick's Links is Tom Doak's first course in Ireland and one of the clearest expressions of his minimalist design philosophy on a dramatic links site.

II

Extraordinary Dune Scale

The course moves through some of the most dramatic dune country in Irish golf, with natural blowouts, valleys, and elevated ridges shaping the character of the round throughout.

III

A Modern Irish Links of Real Substance

Although newly opened in 2021, St Patrick's Links already feels like a course of real presence and importance within the wider Irish links landscape.

IV

Part of a Three-Course Rosapenna Experience

Rosapenna is not a single-course stop. Alongside St Patrick's Links sit Sandy Hills Links and the Old Tom Morris Links, making the resort one of the most complete golf destinations in Ireland.
