Palmares Ocean Living & Golf
Palmares Ocean Living & Golf was originally designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. and opened in 1975. The course was substantially redesigned by Robert Trent Jones II and reopened in 2011, transforming it into one of the most dramatic and visually spectacular golf experiences in Portugal.
The redesigned course plays to 6,109 yards from the championship tees and features a series of holes set among the dunes above the Atlantic, with panoramic views across the Bay of Lagos and the western Algarve coastline. The links-style character of the course — the natural dune terrain, the ocean winds, and the dramatic elevation changes — creates an experience that is unlike any other in the Algarve.
Palmares is managed by the Palmares Beach House Hotel, a boutique luxury property set within the golf estate with direct access to the beach. The combination of the dramatic golf, the boutique hotel, and the natural beauty of the Lagos coastline makes this one of the most distinctive golf destinations in Portugal.
